Children’s Ministry

BabiesAt Leighton, we believe that children are a gift from God.

We also believe that children should feel safe and protected while they are at church. That is why each person who is involved in Children’s Ministry attends a child protection class and undergoes a thorough background check. Children are an important part of our church family. Check out the ministries offered just for kids!

Nursery

The nursery is open every Sunday morning to newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers. Dedicated, caring workers are in the nursery during the 9:30 a.m. worship service year-round. From September-April, nursery care is also offered during the Sunday School hour at 11:00 a.m. to play with and care for God’s precious little ones. Nursery services are also available September through March on our Wednesday Family Night from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Age appropriate toys provide fun and hands on learning for your child.

Children’s Church

KidsFrom September through April, kids ages 4-7 have a worship time all of their own. During the morning worship service, the children are dismissed to Children’s Church where they sing songs, hear Bible stories, and make crafts that tie in with the Bible story.

Pioneer Clubs

Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 from October-March is Family Night at Leighton, which includes Pioneer Clubs. Pioneer Clubs is a bible based, relationship focused program for kids in Preschool-6th Grade. Kids learn about Jesus through music, memorizing Scripture, and digging into the Bible learning how it applies to their life. Life skills are also taught and badges awarded for completing skills. Pioneer Clubs is a fun, exciting way for kids to get a good biblical foundation and learn about a God who loves them and has a plan for their life.

Vacation Bible School

One week out of the summer, kids from the community are invited to come and discover Jesus. The summer of 2011 brought a “Gold Rush” where kids ages 2-12 discovered the Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ. Vacation Bible School is filled with great music, fun crafts, interesting Bible lessons, yummy snacks, and exciting games.   The theme is different each year. The date for VBS can also change each year. Check our website at the beginning of the summer to find all the details! It’s a must for your summer activities. It can be life changing!
